Rugs and Floors is a family business started in Febuary 1998 by the Newton family. Paul and Elizabeth fell in love with the beauty of the local Turkish rugs whilst on holiday in Marmaris. They were fortunate to be given a Kars rug and this was the start of their fascinating collection.

Paul and Elizabeth decided to bring the luxury of these exotic floorcoverings to East Yorkshire and so opened their present retail premises in Ferensway, Hull. It was the first gallery to be opened in this area and offered an exclusive range of handmade Anatolian rugs.

From a small beginning of only eighty Turkish rugs the business now offers an impressive choice of over one thousand pieces. These are imported from all over the world and include Persian, Oriental, Tibetian, Indian, many of which may become collectors items in the future and increase in value over time, especially the silk pieces.

The family company also offers a laminate flooring service. This includes supply and fitting within a twelve mile radius.
